Primary and Secondary
Personalised programmes are developed for our primary and secondary mainstream students in two ways:
- Teaching staff use the National Curriculum objectives for the child’s year group or key stage to plan and deliver lessons. We have a key focus on the core subjects however, inclusion of foundation subjects also ensures that our pupils receive a broad and balanced experience while with us. We also provide regular opportunities for students to enhance their spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness, including the promotion of fundamental British values.
As it is not practical to cover the whole curriculum, areas of the core subjects are prioritised based on key skills. These are as follows:
Primary Curriculum:

Focus |
Also |
Maths |
|
Reasoning in order to apply and embed the key skills taught. |

Some extended texts are written in order to embed the concepts. |

All KS4 lessons are developed and adapted to support various qualification formats and specific exam boards.
- For children who are likely to stay for a longer period of time or those who are likely to have multiple admissions, the home-school is contacted. If work or guidance is sent, the teaching staff build a programme of learning around the topics that they should have been learning at their own school.
In both cases, the children’s interests are taken into account and incorporated where possible and appropriate in order to engage the pupils in the learning.
