Food at Willow Bank

The Willow Bank School Kitchen was established in June 2013 and is run by our Catering Manager Nicky. We are very proud to have achieved the Soil Association Food for Life Catering Mark Bronze Accreditation. As part of the award, we use local, seasonal and fresh ingredients which are free from trans fats, harmful additives and are not genetically modified. We only use UK Farm Assured meat which is better for animal welfare, sustainable sources of fish and free-range eggs. We work using the School Food Standards as set out by the Government.

All our menus are designed and created with ideas and feed-back from the students. Our menus are on a three-week cycle which changes each term. We use seasonal fresh produce daily, we have also harvested lots of fruits and vegetables from the school garden using them in many of our dishes.

We are a Healthy School and we prepare a fresh, varied and nutritious menu each day. We have choice of main meal, including a vegetarian option, and a variety of deli options which change daily. Students can also have a pudding, fruit or yogurt. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a selection of cold drinks are available during breakfast, break and lunch time. Water is freely available throughout the day.
